- What about them did you like?
- What was the message? Was the message clear?
- Did the artist use symbolism to portray their point?
- What strategy is the propaganda using? (fear, etc.)
- Do you think this would be successful in persuading Americans? Why or why not?
they all suck except the one with immigration spelled wrong best one its beautifully put together well done
ReplyDeleteWasn't that yours......
Deleteyup
DeleteGuns don' kill people, people kill people
ReplyDelete-shows that guns don't kill people, people do
-I liked it because its true
-Bandwagon
-Yes, it sends a real fact message
The one where it says "guns don't kill people, people kill people" I thought was very nice and I could understand the message. Also, it was very well drawn. I would say that they are using fear but I'm not 100% sure because I can't find my paper that has the things on it. American people would understand what's going on and what the message was trying to say. I really don't know what to say haha. Can we take the things off the board now??
ReplyDeleteIf guns kill people, spoons make people fat:
ReplyDelete- It was funny
- Saying that guns don't actually kill people, it's the person making the choice of shooting the gun that kills people, which would relate to spoons don't make people fat, but the persons choice of eating so much.
- Bandwagon
- If taken seriously yes, because it's saying guns aren't in the wrong, yet people are and people need to realize that, and taking guns away won't solve the problem.
Trump Hitler:
- That they related Trump to Hitler
- Comparing Trumps idea's to Hitlers
- Yes
- Fear
- Yeah, because no one wants another Hitler
For the If Guns Kill People piece:
ReplyDeleteLiked because it made sense. Message was clear.
Straight Anti-Gun Liberal Logic. Nice use of color.
Symbolism = Fat guy with spoon.
Type: Bandwagon, because a lot of people are thinking like this.
Probably not, but people already do think like this.
For the Build a Wall, Trump piece:
Liked Trump as placeholder for Hitler, Soviet flag.
Message was clear, Trump does not like immigrants/mexicans.
Symbolism: Trump as Hitler, national flag as Soviet flag.
Fear, Trump as new Hitler/Stalin.
It could actually be successful, because many people already see him like that.
Nicely done
DeleteI like The Ultimate Roast because it shows how many people Trump had made fun of. The message was that the Trump campaign is all about making fun of other people and not about his own political view. It was clear what the message was. They did use symbolism by using chickens as the people he had roasted and the eagle on his head. They used fear because if you stand against him then you could be next. This would be successful to persuade Americans because they would be afraid to be roasted or made fun of by Trump.
ReplyDeleteThe second propaganda I picked is "If guns kill people, I guess spoons make people fat." and I like it because its saying if you think a gun can kill a person then the spoon you have can make you fat. They did use symbolism because they have a person on a chair with a spoon and they are a big person. I think the propaganda they used is transfer and it would be successful because then people will think that its not the gun killing a person but the person pulling the trigger.
"Donald Trump campaign"
ReplyDeleteThe little flag in his hair was funny I thought.
The message was Donald Trump roasts everyone while campaigning.
The Artist used a spit and chicken to portray roasting.
The propaganda is using transfer.
It could persuade young Americans who are familiar with the slang because they would think it's cool maybe.
"Spoons make people fat"
I liked the message that it told.
The message is that guns don't kill people, people kill people.
They used a fat person with a spoon to portray their point.
The propaganda is using Name-Calling.
It could persuade some people, but some people are die-hard anti-gunners.
I liked the poster with the guns and the spoons. The message was that people are blaming guns for killing people, when the same mentality could be applied to something outrageous sounding like spoons making people fat. The artist used testimonial because they had a fat guy on there with a spoon. I think it would be successful at persuading Americans because it's funny. I also liked the trump roast one. That one was funny. The message was that Trumps whole campaign is based off of bashing other people and making them look bad just to make himself look worse. I think they used testimonial because it had trump on there with his eagle hair and the american flag. It also has the glittering generalities because it has the eagle with the flag. I think this would be a good propaganda poster to persuade Americans because it's funny.
ReplyDelete"Too Much Stuff, Not Enough Space"
ReplyDeleteI enjoy how they presented the topic of overpopulation clearly.
They did not use symbolism (which isn't a bad thing)
Euphemism and fear.
Yes this would be effective because it presents the message in a way that everyone can understand.
"Build A Wall"
I liked how clearly they presented the comparisons between Trump's and Hitler's views.
They used several of the Nazi symbols and fit them to Trump's views of Mexicans.
The propaganda used the Fear strategy.
I do think this would be effective, because it's a message that people would recognize and understand.
If guns kill people, spoons make people fat-
ReplyDeleteGives a good example of comparing them. The message was shown clearly with the fat person with the spoon and that its not the gun doing the killing its the person. The strategy used is fear. I do think it did succeed its easy to understand and uses a great example.
Adolf Trump-
I like how it showed trump as Hitler. Its clear that he is bad and wants to get rid of mexicans. It used symbolism by having a Trump as hitler. The strategy used is Name-Calling. It is really good at persuading americans because no one likes Hitler.
1. "Trump's campaign; The ultimate roast"- I liked the humorous artwork and portrayal of Donald Trump.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the message was that Trump's political campaign and debates focus more on insulting or undermining his political opponents and particular minority races. The points he makes towards his actual ideas on policies are vague and unpolished.
Yes, they used symbolism by putting a fire and roasted chicken in the artowrk to portray his politcal opponents and minority races.
To me, the propoganda they used was name-calling
Yes, I think it would be successful in persuading Americans because of the comedical value of the artwork itself. Even so, I feel that it may sway Americans in the opposite direction of what was initially intended by the artist.
2. "Too much atuff, not enough space!"- I liked the colors and slogan implemented into this artwork.
The message of this piece is that our planet is becoming too populated, therefore we are searching for other inhabitable planets to live on.
Yes, the artist used symbolism by putting people on a rocket in space while the land on Earth in the background is crowded, implying that we need to find a new planet to inhabit.
This type of propaganda is transfer.
This propaganda would be successful in persuading Americans to push the search for a new place to live because of the very large population of Earth.
To much stuff not enough space:
ReplyDeleteThe message is there is too much space on earth. Yes the message was clear because it shows people being shipped off earth. And I like the colorfulness of the poster. There was no symbolism in the poster. Euphemism was used for this poster. I don't think it would persuade Americans I would say it would need more in the poster.
On the other side:
I liked it because it was creative. The message was clear, like the author got their point across. There was no symbolism. The author used Bandwagon to get everyone to think the same way and to boost everyone to follow the author. I thought this was effective because the author had a lot to go with their poster.
Think there is a lot of creativity In all of the propaganda. The one that caught my eye is the "on the other side". The message of this piece was that our interpretation of mexicans are way off. They are just like us, just on the other side of the boarder. But we are discriminating against them based on the actions of a few. This message stood out very clearly. Yes drew hearts on there shirts. and them smiling, symbolizing a happy mexican teenager. I think the strategy that was used is the transfer strategy. I think the use of the hearts plays a huge part in the interpretation of the propaganda. It indites a feeling of innocents. I am not sure if americans would go for it or not. I know i'm not to persuaded by it, but that does not mean others will not be.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a teenager.. It was Donald Trump hahahahahahaha
Delete"Trump's Campaign Propaganda Poster":
ReplyDeleteOne thing I liked about this one was their use of food. It was also very creative. The message of this poster is that other politicians are not as good as Donald Trump. He is higher on the political food chain than Hillary Clinton and the others. It is clear that Trump does not like his competitors because he is roasting them over an open flame. The author of this poster does use symbolism by comparing the political opponents to roasted birds, and they took a "roast" in a very literal fashion. They used a testimonial propaganda strategy in that they used a very famous person, Donald Trump, to encourage people to vote for him for president. I think this would be successful in persuading people who already like Trump to support and vote for him for president. This poster would make people who don't like him dislike him even more because it highlights his arrogance and ego. The poster does this with his image as better than his competitors since they are represented as food and he looks like an all American politician.
"If Guns Kill People I Guess Spoons Make People Fat":
I like that the topic of this poster is a little different. The message of this propaganda piece is that people blame the tool for people's actions instead of the people doing the actions. The message was not very clear, I had to think about it for a moment to come up with the message. The author's symbolism was not very clear in this poster. I suppose the spoon could be a symbol, but I'm not sure what it would be a symbol for. The strategy is also unclear for this poster, but I would pick a fear strategy. Someone looking at this poster might be afraid to get fat like the person in the poster. I don't think it would be successful in persuading Americans because the message is so unclear.
